Got this info from IMDB listing site for Wisegirls: - Despite receiving rave reviews at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival (where it received a standing ovation from the entire audience), producer 'Anthony Esposito' was unable to find a distributor for the film, which subsequently settled for a cable release in the US in October 2002, and went straight to video in most other countries.
- Whitney Houston had expressed interest in the lead role before Mira Sorvino was cast.
- Richard Donner (director of 2 Supes movies... Superman: The Movie and Superman II) was once attached as director.
- Eric Louzil was once attached as executive producer.
- Robin Wright Penn was cast as Meg in December 1998, but she eventually dropped out due to production delays. Mira Sorvino then signed up for the film in January 2000.
- John Meadows wrote the script between June 1997 and September 1998.
- Famke Janssen (X-Men movies) was once attached to play Kate.
- Demian Lichtenstein was once attached as director.
